There&#039;s a lot of crunchy thought here, Doc, and I appreciate your willingness to step up to the bat on this, if only to address the difficulties involved in explaining what is NEEDED to be a game critic. There are a few publications that might appreciate a scholarly examination of this problem (e.g. Technical Communication). 

In the meantime, you and your friends at NeedCoffee might try to take on two or three of the disciplines noted in your essay above to develop a &quot;body of work&quot; which later academics can later tear apart at will. As a fellow academic, I&#039;m sure you&#039;d appreciate the value of such a corpus.
